Co-Director Julia Query (lesbian, exotic dancer, and daughter of Dr. Joyce Wallace, high profile feminist activist) took to the picket line with her fellow dancers when their employer, San Francisco's famous "Lusty Lady", violated their worker's rights. More than just a strike, Query and her co-workers were also fighting the California State Labor Board for the right to establish a stripper's union. Their difficult battle inspired fellow strippers from around the country to also strike and unionize. |
